Knox County Coverlet Dated 1860
Made by Michael Ardner
Item #C-107 $349
We like to use these early hand woven coverlets as a nice
decorating alternative to a quilt. These coverlets are getting more difficult
to find and are quite collectible. This coverlet has corner blocks that
read "Woven in Maunt (misspelled - should be Mount)Vernon, Knox County, Ohio by
Michael Ardner 1860", a local weaver in the Knox County, Ohio area that made
custom hand woven coverlets for the wealthy. This coverlet has age appropriate
wear as seen in the photos and has been cut down on the ends with the corner
blocks and reinforced. The color is a wonderful indigo blue and white, and
the other side is the reverse (a Summer/Winter coverlet). The size is a
generous 82 inches by 69 inches, excluding the fringe. This coverlet is clean
and ready to use right out of the box. Professionally hand laundered by
Steve at Americas Antiques. Check our store for hundreds of other hand
laundered quilts and coverlets.

Patriotic Red, White & Blue Coverlet
Item #C-109
The weaver of this 1880's coverlet probably left the 2 panels
separate, but someone later machine stitched the panels together upside down!
An easily corrected mistake to restore this red, white & blue wool coverlet to
it's original beauty. The coverlet is reversible and should have pine
trees on 3 edges (the 4th edge goes under the pillows). It measures 84" x
70". We found some mothing damage as shown and a 1" hole on one corner,
but no rips, tears, stains or odors. You can fix this coverlet or use "as
is" for a conversation piece!
