Multicolored Antique Chinese Coins Crazy Quilt
Item #C-2199 $295
From the 1870's comes this Chinese Coins
quilt, HAND PIECED using colorful wool scrap bag fabrics for
the coins. Dark colors (black, eggplant, grey and navy worsted wools) were
used for the sashing between the rows of coins, and for the border. The
initial "L" is embroidered on one corner. A beautiful green, lavender and cream
paisley and floral polished cotton was used for the back. Turkey track
stitching surrounds each of the coins in gold silk thread. The quilt
measures 78" x 72" with a cotton batting and a hand applied slate blue binding.
The backing fabric is held to the front by the binding only. In "as found"
clean condition, we found some minor mothing damage (mainly on
the border and binding) which someone tried to temporarily fix, and a couple
very light and small stains, but no rips, tears or odors. This would make
a very graphic wall hanging!!

Antique Crazy Quilt w Turkey Track Stitching
Item #2196 $229
What a marvelous clean, antique Crazy quilt!
Each of the 49 blocks are HAND PIECED using scraps of wool,
cotton, and velvet for the irregular pieces, with colorful Turkey Track
stitching surrounding each piece. The 8-1/4" wide border fabric has golden
figures woven throughout the tan background, and was brought around to the back
and sewn down with colorful Turkey Track stitching to form the binding.
The quilt measures 76" x 76", has a thin cotton batting, and a tan and grey
striped cotton back. The front is held to the back with tiny yarn ties
placed at the corner of each block. PROFESSIONALLY HAND LAUNDERED,
we found no rips, or odors, but a couple very small moth nips on just a few
pieces and some very, very light staining on the back only. Please note -
photos don't show the richness of the colors - it's MUCH better
in person!
Antique Wool Crazy Quilt w/Sateen Back
#C-2091 $299
This is a beautiful
Crazy Quilt, HAND PIECED in the early 1900's using
very fine wool pieces and a couple of cotton velvets from the makers scrap bag.
Each irregular piece is surrounded by turkey track and other decorative
stitching done in various colors of embroidery floss, and is set up in 48
blocks, with rectangular pieces for the borders. The quilt measures 71" x
54" (perfect size for a throw!), has no batting, and a wonderful jet black
cotton sateen hand applied binding and back. The front of the quilt is
held to the back using several strands of red embroidery floss tied front to
back and invisible on the front. PROFESSIONALLY HAND LAUNDERED,
we find no rips, tears, stains or odors, just one moth hole 1/8" x 3/8" (see
turquoise piece in 2nd photo) and a couple pinhead sized moth nips.

they're seldom dated as this one is! Dated March

it's HAND PIECED
using wool scrap bag pieces in Autumn colors - many shades of browns,
oranges and reds, and black, dark green, and navy. Each piece is

a pinwheel star in the center, a 9 patch, and several fans. The
quilt measures 83" x 83", has a thin cotton (or perhaps wool) batting, a
hand applied binding (minor wear), and a rusty-red colored wool back.
